No new lesson was learned with todays photo. But todays photo captures my Sunday afternoons almost perfectly. While I find something to do (today is working on framing my photos for the walls) my husband is captured by the current football game.

Day three of 365 can be titled: LEARNING. Remembered how I mentioned that I was a tad overwhelmed. Well, we’re still overwhelmed. When I went to the Air and Space Museum yesterday, I was so frustrated. My old Canon was a Rebel XT, which is about…what four generations ago? I think. So this 7D is a huge learning experience for me. All the button are on the opposite side, not to mention that there are tons more!

With all that said, today I learned how to shoot in B&W. I know, nothing special. But and accomplishment for me none the less. I am hoping that I’ll get the hang of everything quicker, so that I can start taking shots that are more creative.

And yes, that is a saw in my living room. My husband pulled it out at the beginning of the week, and its still there. I think it makes for wonderful home decor.

The 7D has Arrived!

My new camera has arrived, and I have been spending some time reading the new manual. I knew that the 7D was going to come with all sorts of new buttons and options. I just didn’t expect to be overwhelmed by it. Never the less, I feel like this is going to be to much fun.

I couldn’t wait to start my 365 with the new camera. So I left my little friend on automatic and kicked off my project.

The reason for candy? Well, my little gremlin has given me such a intense craving for candy. I’ve alway have loved candy, but it was never important enough to keep in the house, until I got pregnant. So there you are, #1/365 with the new 7D. Not perfect, just a simple start.

Tomorrow is the Big Day!

I got a call from an unknown number, so obviously I sent it to voicemail. When I got around to checking my messages, I found out that it was the call I was waiting for. My Canon 7D will be arriving tomorrow! Of course the delivery time frame is between 8am to 7pm, and if I miss them I have to go and pick it up. So needless to say, I will be camping out at home until I have the new Canon in hand. I hope its earlier then later.

Time Has Passed

So I started this blog almost a year ago, abandoning it because life is sometimes beyond busy. Then with a curve ball thrown in, I found myself pregnant. With work consuming me, and then being so sick that there was no helping me what so ever. Something had to give. That my friends was photography. Which saddens me to say.

Since then I have quit my job, and made it to the happy second trimester! Meaning I feel tons of better. I am getting home projects done, and to the delight of my husband, regular home cooked meals are being made. I find myself being able to multi-task my time better. Which is bringing back to the happy arms of a hobby that I was enjoying with all my heart, photography. I am prepping myself to restart the 365 day project once again. My husband even ordered me a Canon 7D. It should be in my ever so eager hands next week. My current love is a Canon XT Rebel. The two lenses that I use is the standard 18×55 and my love 28×135.

So todays photo is very abstract for me. I am typically lean toward the more realistic. This is a photo of tree branches against a foggy sky, with leaves not wanting to let go despite the call of winter. Then I went to “improve” the shot just a tad in photoshop elements..and thats where I made a mistake. Instead of deleting it, I stared at it for a bit. It was so different for me, and I think thats what I liked the most. I am not promising more “abstract art”, that is not the direction I am reaching for in my photography, but every once and a while its a nice change.

I am blogging my experience with the project 365 that I started on the first day of December. I started my blogging on a different web (blogger) page. But during my journey in trying to find the best outlet, I came across Word Press. I must say, it has way more options. In almost every way. Anyhow, the title of todays blog “in the middle” is because this may be the beginning blog for here, but its my 13ish blog for the month. I am going to just copy and paste from my other blog to here. So 13 days of blogging will be in one. Sorry about that.

What is this blog is about? I decided to push myself creatively and technically in the world of photography. The way I decided to do that is a 365 day photo journey. Now this is not to record my day to day life in a year. I am not interested in that. It is to push me to think out side of the “box” in my hobby. With that, I decided to blog my experience’s, what I enjoyed, what I hated, my mistakes. Basically everything that I am learning.
